Jet2 sponsors new Shooting Star Children's Hospices podcast and donates flights to support families

Jet2 is helping Shooting Star Children’s Hospices raise vital funds to support hundreds of families facing the unimaginable by sponsoring the charity’s new podcast, Shooting Star Unwrapped.

The sponsorship marks a further show of support from Jet2 for the communities it serves, with Shooting Star Children’s Hospices providing specialist care and support to families who have a baby, child or young person with a life-limiting condition, or who have been bereaved.

As part of the charity partnership, Jet2 has donated a voucher for a pair of return flights to the charity’s Virtual Charity Shop auction. In addition, Jet2 will run a launch competition giving one lucky winner the chance to win a £1,500 holiday voucher, helping raise awareness of Shooting Star’s work and encouraging more people to support the charity.

The activity comes after Jet2 launched its award-winning flights and ATOL protected package holidays from London Gatwick earlier this year. The move expanded Jet2’s footprint to 14 UK airport bases and means more holidaymakers across London, Greater London and the South East of England can enjoy the company’s friendly, VIP customer service when travelling on treasured family holidays.

Shooting Star Unwrapped will be released every two weeks from 15th September 2026 and is hosted by the charity’s Executive Vice-President Karen Sugarman MBE, who is marking her 40th year in palliative care. The series features heartfelt conversations with well-known names from entertainment, music and television, beginning with Dame Joan Collins DBE in her first ever podcast interview.

Each guest will donate an exclusive item to the Virtual Charity Shop auction, giving supporters the chance to own or experience something special while helping Shooting Star continue to make every moment count for children and families when it matters most.

David Hills, Chief Customer Officer at Jet2, said: “We are incredibly proud to be sponsoring Shooting Star Unwrapped and to be supporting the remarkable work of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. Family is at the heart of everything we do at Jet2, so this partnership means a great deal to us. Through our sponsorship, flight donation and holiday competition, we hope to help raise awareness and vital funds for a charity that provides outstanding care and support to children and families across the South. Following our arrival at London Gatwick earlier this year, we are delighted to be building even stronger connections with communities across London, Greater London and the South East.”

Karen Sugarman MBE, Executive Vice-President at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, said: “We are very proud that series one of Shooting Star Unwrapped is sponsored by Jet2 and we’re incredibly grateful to the fantastic celebrity guests who have given their time to bring critical awareness to the babies, children, young people and the families who need us. Every conversation, every auction prize and every donation helps us continue providing vital care to families who are in the most unimaginable of circumstances.”
