Low-fare airline Wizz Air has announced a charity partnership with When You Wish Upon A Star, a UK-based charity
Wizz Air, the fastest-growing European airline and London’s local airline, has partnered with When You Wish Upon A Star, to help grant the wishes of children facing life-threatening illnesses across the UK.
The new partnership supports When You Wish Upon A Star’s mission and also reflects Wizz Air’s commitment to creating meaningful connections and fostering hope in the lives of those who need it most.
With the partnership, Wizz Air will help turn children’s dreams into a reality, giving them the opportunity to experience the joy of travel across Europe and beyond. The airline will provide up to 50 return flights and other services for children and their guardians supported by the charity, on one of 1000 routes across the Wizz Air network.
This collaboration is part of the WIZZ Foundation, Wizz Air’s charitable organization. The Foundation works with charitable partners and beneficiaries across Europe, with supporting children facing serious illnesses at the heart of its mission. Through a series of key partnerships, WIZZ Foundation collaborates with leading wish-granting organizations, including Csodalámpa – The Magic Lamp Wish-Granting Foundation in Hungary, Fundacja Mam Marzenie – “I Have a Dream” Wish-Granting Foundation in Poland, and Make-A-Wish Italia in Italy.
Yvonne Moynihan, Managing Director at Wizz Air UK, stated: “We are honoured to partner with When You Wish Upon A Star in their incredible mission to bring joy, hope, and unforgettable moments to children and their families. At Wizz Air, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience the magic of flying, and we are proud to help make that possible. This partnership reflects our deep commitment to the communities we serve and to expanding accessibility through mobility. Supporting families, strengthening connections, and helping young children’s dreams take flight is a privilege we hold close to our hearts”.
Joe Williamson, Chief Executive Officer at Wish Upon A Star, added: “We are thrilled to join forces with Wizz Air to make the dreams of children facing life-threatening illnesses come true, every wish granted brings hope, joy, and unforgettable memories to our children and their families. This partnership opens incredible opportunities for adventure and discovery, and we are deeply grateful to Wizz Air for helping us create magical moments that will be cherished forever.”
