RGB Selects Mind As Its Chosen Charity

RGB Building Supplies has selected mental health organisation Mind as its chosen charity. Over the next 12 months, the builders merchant will be organising various fundraising events to raise money for Cornwall Mind, Devon Mind and Mind in Somerset.

Information from Mind indicates that one in four people will experience a mental health problem each year in England, and one in six people report experiencing a common mental health problem, such as anxiety and depression, every week. RGB is delighted to be supporting a charity that’s helping those in the region.

As local charities affiliated with the national Mind association, Cornwall Mind, Devon Mind and Mind in Somerset provide a range of well-being services for people who experience mental health problems, as well as advice, information, support groups and a dedicated youth service.

Paul Reeve, CEO of Cornwall Mind, commented:

“We are delighted that RGB has chosen to support Cornwall Mind. Their commitment over the next 12 months to raise funds, and just as importantly, awareness of mental health, is inspirational and I know will make a real difference to the people we support.”

Andre Pusey, Marketing & Fundraising Officer at Devon Mind, said:

“As a well-known, widely respected merchant with branches across Devon, RGB will provide us with vital new opportunities to help increase awareness and raise funds to aid the fight for mental health in our amazing county. We can’t wait to get started.”

Victoria Poole, Funding Manager at Mind in Somerset, added:

“We have seen an unprecedented rise in the need for our service and are proud we have managed to expand and meet this need throughout the pandemic. We simply couldn’t continue this increased support without the fundraising and support of our community so we are very excited to be entering into this partnership.”

Kevin Fenlon, CEO of RGB, commented:

“The COVID-19 pandemic has had an extremely negative impact on the mental health of some of those in our region and, over the past 18 months, Mind has seen the number of people using its services grow exponentially. We’re delighted to be supporting the local Mind charities by committing to raise money to help it supply life-saving services. We know it’s a cause our customers will get fully behind and, at the outset, we want to thank everyone who helps us with our fundraising.”
