A Dorset bus operator is once again opening the door to grassroots groups in need of a financial boost, as Morebus relaunches its Community Fund for 2026 with increased support on offer.
Applications for the 1st round, opens this March 2026, invite charities, schools and sports teams across Dorset to apply for grants or in-kind help worth up to £750.00. The scheme, which has grown in scope since it first launch, aims to support local organisations not only with funding but also with practical assistance such as marketing support, free travel, or even the use of buses for community events.
The Community Fund forms part of Morebus’s wider commitment to the communities it serves. Alongside operating bus services across the county, Morebus says it is keen to shine a light on local groups making a difference and to help amplify their community impact.
The 2026 programme introduces a notable change: instead of a single annual opportunity, applications will now open 3 times a year — in March, July and November — giving more groups the chance to benefit. The maximum level of support has also been increased from £500.00 to £750.00 per round.
Organisations applying are asked to outline their charity/cause, what support they need, and the difference the funding or assistance would make to their work.
Community groups of all sizes are encouraged to apply, whether they are well-established charities or smaller, informal initiatives. Those connected to local causes are also being urged to spread the news, ensuring that groups who could benefit most are aware of the opportunity.
Applications will close on the 31st of March 2026
