Leonard Curtis has announced Variety, the Children’s Charity as its charity of the year for 2026, marking a significant milestone for the business advisory firm as it launches its first formal charity partnership.

The decision comes during the traditional season of goodwill in the run-up to Christmas and reflects a growing commitment by the consultancy to support causes that deliver tangible impact for vulnerable communities.

Dan Booth, chief executive of Leonard Curtis, said the partnership was rooted in a simple but powerful principle. “Every child deserves the chance to enjoy their childhood,” he said. “Variety makes that possible for children who face huge challenges every single day. We’re honoured to stand beside them and do what we can to bring more joy, more opportunity, and more hope to families who need it most.”

Variety, which celebrated its 75th anniversary last year, is known for providing practical support that brings immediate and lasting benefits to disabled children and their families.

Its work ranges from supplying specialist equipment and mobility aids to funding accessible transport and creating memorable experiences for children who might otherwise miss out. In 2025 alone, the charity supported around 160,000 children across the UK.

One of Variety’s most recognisable initiatives is its Sunshine Coaches programme, which provides accessible minibuses to schools and community groups.

These vehicles are often a lifeline, enabling children with disabilities to take part in activities beyond the classroom. In 2026, the charity is set to reach a landmark moment with the donation of its 6,000th Sunshine Coach.

Leonard Curtis is one of the UK’s leading multi-disciplinary business advisory firms, employing more than 330 people across 30 locations in the UK and offshore. The firm offers expertise in restructuring, funding, legal services, mergers and acquisitions, and a wide range of related advisory disciplines.

The new partnership with Variety sits alongside the firm’s existing charitable initiatives, including The Leonard Curtis Foundation and its Giving Back Days programme, which encourages employee-led fundraising and volunteering. Over the next 12 months, teams across Leonard Curtis will raise funds and contribute their time and skills to support Variety’s mission, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to making a meaningful difference beyond the boardroom.

Laurence Guinness, Variety CEO added, “Behind every donation is a child whose world opens up – whether that’s the freedom of a wheelchair that fits, or the happiness of joining in with friends. With support from Leonard Curtis, we’ll be able to change even more lives in very real and immediate ways.”
