Mental Health Awareness Week: Supporting Better Mental Health Through Partnership and Action
Mental Health Awareness Week offers an important opportunity to reflect on an issue that affects us all: our mental wellbeing.
For E.ON, however, supporting mental health is not confined to a single week in the calendar. It is a commitment embedded throughout the organisation, shaping how the company supports its customers, communities and colleagues every day.
Since 2022, E.ON has partnered with Mind to help ensure that nobody has to face a mental health problem alone. Together, the partnership has delivered meaningful support to people across the UK while helping to raise awareness of the importance of accessible, compassionate mental health care.
A Charity Partnership Delivering Real Impact
Running from 11–17 May 2026, this year's Mental Health Awareness Week sees Mind championing a simple but powerful message: great mental health care is human.
At its heart, this means recognising the individual behind every experience, providing support rooted in understanding, empathy and practical assistance. Across England and Wales, Mind's trained advisers offer support online, over the phone and through local communities, helping people navigate some of life's most challenging moments.
By supporting Mental Health Awareness Week, E.ON is helping to highlight the importance of person-centred mental health care while enabling more people to access the support they need.
Thanks to the dedication and generosity of colleagues across the business, more than £500,000 has been raised in support of Mind's vital work. The funds have helped sustain essential services, including helplines, online peer-support communities and trusted mental health information resources accessed by people throughout the UK.
The achievement reflects the collective efforts of colleagues who have taken part in fundraising activities ranging from marathon challenges and organised events to everyday acts of giving, united by a shared commitment to improving mental health support.
Meeting a Growing Need
The demand for mental health services continues to increase. Around one in five adults in England is currently experiencing a common mental health problem, with the greatest impact often felt within disadvantaged communities.
Against this backdrop, partnerships between businesses and charities play a crucial role. Beyond raising funds, they help tackle stigma, encourage open conversations and ensure support remains available for those who need it most.
As a business serving millions of customers, E.ON sees first-hand the challenges that financial pressures, major life changes and uncertainty can have on mental wellbeing. This understanding underpins a broader commitment to operating as a responsible, people-focused organisation that places wellbeing at the centre of its work.
Creating a Workplace Where People Can Thrive
Supporting mental health is also a key part of E.ON's commitment to creating a positive workplace culture.
Through its partnership with Mind, the company has strengthened its approach to colleague wellbeing, embedding support and awareness across the organisation. Colleagues have access to a range of resources, training opportunities and wellbeing initiatives designed to help them manage their own mental health and support others.
This includes more than 100 trained Wellbeing Warriors who champion mental health across the business, regular Time to Talk sessions that encourage open and honest conversations, and specialist training that equips colleagues to support vulnerable customers while safeguarding their own wellbeing.
Alongside these initiatives, E.ON continues to invest in wellbeing education, colleague networks and employee benefits that help people achieve a healthy balance between work and home life.
Supporting Customers and Communities
E.ON's commitment to mental health extends beyond its workforce.
The company recognises that issues such as fuel poverty, financial hardship and rising living costs can have a profound impact on people's wellbeing. Through practical support, compassionate customer service and targeted assistance for vulnerable households, E.ON aims to ensure customers receive the help they need when facing difficult circumstances.
By working closely with Mind, the company is also contributing to stronger mental health support within the communities it serves, helping to build a more inclusive and supportive society.
Looking Ahead
While Mental Health Awareness Week provides an important platform to raise awareness, it also serves as a reminder that supporting mental wellbeing requires ongoing commitment.
E.ON's partnership with Mind demonstrates the difference that can be achieved when businesses, charities and communities work together towards a shared goal. Whether through fundraising, workplace support or helping customers navigate challenging times, the partnership continues to make a positive impact.
