Keyline Civils Specialist pledges to raise £5000 for Prostate Cancer UK
Keyline Civils Specialist, the UK’s largest supplier of civils and drainage solutions, has committed to raising £5,000 for its long-term charity partner Prostate Cancer UK to go towards lifesaving research to find better ways to diagnose and treat prostate cancer.
Prostate Cancer UK is the leading men’s health charity that invests in lifesaving research and essential support for men with prostate cancer and their loved ones. One man dies every 45 minutes from prostate cancer, which is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK. Around 400,000 men are living with or after a prostate cancer diagnosis, and that number keeps rising.
Over the last 10 years, Keyline has supported the charity by sharing its awareness messaging with customers and employees and organising fundraising initiatives. As a result, Keyline has raised over £1.8m for Prostate Cancer UK since 2010.
This December, Keyline is encouraging each of its branches to raise at least £150 for the charity to help ensure Prostate Cancer UK can maintain their vital research work during these challenging times. £5,000 could help pay for essential research equipment, such as an incubator that could help researchers grow cells to test in the lab, a hugely beneficial way of testing new treatments for prostate cancer.
Tracey Pritchard, Director of Fundraising and Supporter Engagement at Prostate Cancer UK said: “Keyline have been amazing partners over the last decade, and it’s fantastic to know they’re pledging to continue that support this December.
"Prostate cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK and due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, our life-saving research is at risk. However, the wonderful support of our partners like Keyline has allowed us to protect research into better tests and treatments, to stop prostate cancer being a killer.
"We are so grateful to Keyline and thank them for their continued support.”
Adam Franklin, Regional Director at Keyline said: “Prostate Cancer UK is a very important charity to us, and its work touches the lives of so many people. We have had a strong relationship with the charity for the last 10 years and are incredibly proud that over that time, Keyline has raised in excess of £1.8m for the cause. We are pleased the money we have raised has made a huge difference to those affected by prostate cancer and will continue to do so.
“Keyline’s donations have been used by Prostate Cancer UK to maintain essential support services such as their Specialist Nurse helpline, which provides information for anyone with concerns about prostate cancer, to funding research and helping educate primary health care professionals about best prostate cancer practice.”
