Invesco, one of the world’s leading asset managers, is proud to mark the second anniversary of its partnership with the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT), celebrating a shared commitment to protecting and restoring the UK’s vital wetland habitats.

Invesco is the largest contributor to the Blue Recovery Fund, donating over £300,000 in two years, and a key member of the Blue Recovery Leaders Group, a group that brings businesses together to create and restore wetlands across the UK. Invesco’s funding has gone towards the development of a ‘Potential Wetland Mapping’ tool, a key resource for identifying restoration opportunities across the UK. The firm also contributed to wetland restoration at The Meads in Bridgwater, supporting biodiversity and climate resilience.

Since the partnership began in 2023, Invesco and WWT have collaborated on a range of initiatives that have delivered tangible environmental and community benefits. Over 100 Invesco volunteers have supported conservation efforts at the London Wetland Centre, saving the onsite team days of work and resources. Four new volunteering dates are already booked for 2026, continuing the momentum of employee-led conservation.

Last year at Invesco’s Henley office, colleagues built a mini wetland and wildlife pond guided by WWT experts, and collaborated to produce a “How to Build a Wildlife Pond” video (30K views on YouTube) and a follow-up One year update (5K views), to promote the cause and inspire wider public engagement on the topic.

WWT scientists have continued to educate Invesco staff sharing research in the firm’s Global Green Team meetings, enriching employee understanding of wetland ecosystems. All Invesco UK employees and their families now have access to WWT visitor passes, and Invesco donated over 170 WWT centre tickets to families through the firm’s charity partner, Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity.

Claire Myers, Director, Corporate Responsibility, at Invesco commented “Our continuing partnership with WWT reflects Invesco’s deep commitment to impactful charitable partnerships and employee engagement. Together, we’re not only restoring wetlands but also inspiring our people to value and protect these extraordinary ecosystems.”

The Blue Recovery fund aims to support WWT’s work towards their goal to create or restore 100,000 hectares of wetlands, including vital research as well as supporting project that directly create and enhance wetlands.
