Allianz UK raises over £350,000 for Barnardo’s in first year of partnership

In a remarkable first year of partnership, Allianz has raised an impressive £356,000 for Barnardo’s, marking a significant step towards its ambitious £1 million target over three years.

In the past 12 months, Allianz employees have raised donations through a wide range of fundraising activities from bake sales to cross channel swims and sky dives.

These funds are already making a tangible difference in the lives of hundreds of young people and their families, addressing critical issues such as child poverty and employment barriers through initiatives including:

Barnardo’s Child Poverty Fund: The fund addresses the urgent needs faced by children, young people, and parents experiencing poverty in their everyday lives. A £100,000 contribution from Allianz could impact up to 421 households across the UK, benefitting 1,404 individuals, including 985 children.

Barnardo’s Employment Training and Skills (ETS): Allianz funds can support Barnardo’s ETS courses, which teach essential skills and qualifications. This initiative provides over 970 young people with the opportunity to join ETS courses, expanding their career prospects and offering them a promising start in life.

Rodney Assock, Head of CSR, Allianz UK, commented: “I am thrilled that we have raised over £350,000 for Barnardo’s in our first year and would like to thank our employees for their incredible fundraising efforts. It’s fantastic to see our contributions making a real difference through fantastic Barnardo’s initiatives, which are helping young people overcome barriers and achieve their potential."

He added: “Through our partnership with Barnardo’s, our goal is to change childhood together and we have exciting fundraising plans in place for 2025 which will help us to get closer to our £1m target.”

Lynn Perry, Chief Executive of Barnardo’s, said: "Every pound raised by our corporate partners Allianz is invaluable in our goal of making childhoods healthier, happier, safer and more hopeful. We thank them for their amazing efforts so far and can’t wait to see what the future holds for our partnership.”
