Edinburgh Airport has announced that it is now inviting applications to find their new Charity Partner for 2024 and 2025.
Applications will remain open until midnight on Friday, 20th October 2023
Since the start of 2022, Edinburgh Airport has been partnering with West Lothian based charity The Larder and this 2 year charity partnership will end at the end of this year.
Previous charity partners include Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH); The Yard; and Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA).
For the upcoming charity partnership, and as part of its continued commitment to supporting local communities, the Edinburgh Airport will accept applications from Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and Falkirk.
Priority will be given to those charities that support or align with the 4 pillars of Greater Good, the airport’s sustainability strategy:
- Zero Carbon; charities seeking solutions to climate change and helping in our journey to net zero.
- Enhancing Scotland; charities working to improve local biodiversity, tackle waste, or clean our water.
- Scotland’s Best Business; charities that help people into employment, benefit mental and physical wellbeing, or support marginalised groups.
- Trusted Neighbour; charities that foster community engagement, or support others to do the same.
Edinburgh Airport will also prioritise an active partner who will embrace an exchange of skills and knowledge, and collaborate on joint fundraising events and volunteering opportunities.
Applications will remain open until midnight on Friday 20th October 2023
Gordon Robertson, Edinburgh Airport’s Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer, said:
“Our Charity Partnerships are very important to us and over the years we’ve enjoyed collaborating with partners to raise awareness of their causes while providing support through volunteering, fundraising and other joint activities.
“As applications for 2024 and 2025 open I look forward to hearing from some fantastic local charities and learning about the great work they do in their communities.
“For the last two years we’re proud to have collaborated with The Larder and supported the work it does to develop skills and confidence in young people, and we hope we can build on this partnership throughout the remainder of 2023 and ensure a lasting legacy long after the collaboration has finished.”
Since the airport’s charity partnerships have started more than £600,000 has been raised for the good causes.
The initiative has been running since 2012 and in 2018 the partnership with Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) won the ‘Best Partner Relationship’ award at the 2018 Institute of Fundraising Awards.
