Carpenters Group selects Alder Hey Children’s Charity as Charity of the Year

Carpenters Group has announced Alder Hey Children's Charity as its Charity of the Year, following a company-wide vote.

Alder Hey Children’s Charity has been chosen as Carpenters Group’s Charity of the Year following a company-wide vote by employees.

The partnership will see colleagues across the business support the Liverpool-based charity over the next 12 months through fundraising events, challenges and other activities.

The vote gave Carpenters employees the opportunity to nominate and select a charity that was important to them. Alder Hey emerged as the successful choice following strong support from teams across the organisation.

Funds raised during the partnership will support Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, helping the charity provide additional resources for children and families receiving care.

Alder Hey Children’s Charity raises money to support projects and services beyond the hospital’s core NHS funding, including specialist equipment, innovative research and initiatives designed to improve the experience of young patients and their families.

Donna Richards, CEO of Carpenters Group, said the decision reflected the strength of feeling among employees for a cause close to the company’s Liverpool headquarters.

“We are delighted to announce Alder Hey as our colleague voted Charity of the Year. The result reflects our colleagues’ desire to support a cause local to our headquarters that has a significant impact on the children and families in contact with the hospital.”

She added: “We are looking forward to working with Alder Hey throughout the year and raising as much money as we can to go towards the amazing work they do.”

The partnership is the latest addition to Carpenters Group’s wider programme of community and charitable activity. The business has previously highlighted its support for a range of local organisations and grassroots initiatives, including Fans Supporting Foodbanks, Fishing the Mind, the LFC Foundation and the Greenbank Project.

Carpenters has also previously described community engagement as a priority, with charitable initiatives forming part of its wider approach to supporting the communities in which its employees live and work.

For Alder Hey Children’s Charity, corporate partnerships such as this provide an important source of funding for projects intended to enhance care and the hospital environment for children and families.
