Edinburgh Trams announce Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity as their Charity of the Year

Edinburgh Trams announced that their Charity of the Year for 2019/20 will be the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity. The city’s tramway, which will celebrate their 5th birthday at the end of May have previously supported charities such as the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home and the MS Therapy Centre Lothian with a total of £12,500 raised supporting local causes. Lea Harrison, Managing Director of Edinburgh Trams said: “Edinburgh Trams is excited to work with the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity and I’m thrilled that our staff have selected them to be our Charity of the Year so we can support the important work they do for sick children and their families in Edinburgh and across Scotland.” Mr Harrison added: “The Oor Willie BIG Bucket Trail is going to be a huge event for the city over the summer and I know that “oor” staff will rise to the challenge and support this excellent cause.” The Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity was set up to support and complement the work of Edinburgh's Royal Hospital for Sick Children (The Sick Kids) as well as other children’s healthcare settings across Scotland. Amy Ford, Corporate Fundraiser for the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be chosen as Edinburgh Trams’ charity of the year partner for 2019/20. It’s an extremely exciting year for our charity with both the opening of the new children’s hospital in July and Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail taking place across the summer. We’re really looking forward to working with the whole team, both as one of our sponsors for Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail and as their charity of the year. With Edinburgh Trams’ support, we can continue to transform the lives of children and young people in hospital and healthcare settings across Edinburgh so that they can be children first and patients second.”
