Bradfords Building Supplies partners with Children's Hospice South West
Bradfords Building Supplies, one of the South West’s most established independent builders’ merchants, has today announced a new three-year charity partnership with Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), strengthening its commitment to supporting local communities and families facing some of life’s greatest challenges.
The charity partnership, officially launched this week at Bradfords’ Yeovil branch, marks a significant commitment by the family-owned business — which boasts over 250 years of history and a network of 45 branches across the region — to champion vital care services for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions.
The charity partnership launch event featured a Breakfast with Santa fundraiser, complete with a festive raffle and fancy dress competition, underscoring the charity partnership’s mix of community engagement and charitable impact from the start.
Supporting families through toughest moments
Under the new charity partnership, Bradfords’ teams will participate in a year-round calendar of fundraising activities — from local trade days to CHSW events — designed to involve staff, customers and communities across the South West in supporting the charity’s mission.
“We are incredibly proud to be announcing this partnership with Children’s Hospice South West,” said David Young, CEO of Bradfords Building Supplies. “Their dedication to supporting families through the toughest moments resonates with our own values as a family business. We look forward to making a real difference together over the next three years.”
A charity partnership with purpose
CHSW Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser Amanda Gallagher expressed her delight at the new partnership: “We are absolutely delighted to be working together with Bradfords through this partnership and are really looking forward to supporting them through what I am sure will be a very exciting relationship with CHSW.”
She added that the Bradfords charity partnership is expected not only to raise vital funds for local families, but also to deepen connections between Bradfords’ employees, their suppliers and customers throughout the region.
Supporting care across the South West
Children’s Hospice South West provides specialist palliative care, short breaks, emergency and end-of-life support to more than 500 children and their families each year across three hospices in Devon, Cornwall and North Somerset. The charity relies almost entirely on voluntary donations — raising around £14 million annually to deliver its free services.
