Virgin Money raise over £200,000 for their charity partner Teenage Cancer Trust

In April 2017, Virgin Money announced that they would be working in partnership with Teenage Cancer Trust as their corporate charity of the year. This meant that Teenage Cancer Trust would be the official charity partner of the London Marathon and also that colleagues from across the business would carry out fundraising activities to support the cause.

Throughout 2017, the Virgin Lounge and Store Network have been busy fundraising with their customers whilst colleagues from all over the wider business have been raising funds by taking on personal challenges, baking, arranging quiz nights and some even ran the Virgin Money London Marathon for Teenage Cancer Trust. Overall, all fundraising raised well over £200,000.

This will have an enormous impact on the work Teenage Cancer Trust does.

It could:

  • Provide over 8,000 hours of vital nursing care within a Teenage Cancer Trust unit.

  • Provide over 8,000 hours of specialist one on one support from a Youth Support Coordinator.

  • Educate roughly 50,000 students on the signs and symptoms of cancer and healthy living.

For every young person that Teenage Cancer trust are able to support there’s another that they can’t reach. It’s their aim to ensure that they are reaching every single young person with cancer and making sure they have access to their support at this time in their lives.
