De Vere, the distinguished collection of historic mansion house estates and contemporary hotels across the UK, has raised more than £100,000 for its charity partners during its inaugural Charity Gala Dinner, held in July at the iconic De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in Covent Garden.
The midsummer-themed ball welcomed 400 guests to the venue’s Grand Hall, where attendees were treated to a night of exceptional hospitality, including a gourmet dining experience, expertly curated wines, and captivating live entertainment.
The evening raised vital funds in support of three impactful charities: the British Heart Foundation, dedicated to pioneering heart health research; Hospitality Action, which offers essential support to those in the hospitality industry facing personal or professional challenges; and the Willow Foundation, which provides uplifting and bespoke experiences for young adults living with serious and life-limiting conditions.
A highlight of the night was a live charity auction, featuring a range of exclusive items and one-of-a-kind experiences. The top-selling lot—a striking sculpture by renowned British artist Ed Elliott—raised £6,000. Elliott has partnered with De Vere to present a solo exhibition, which debuted at De Vere Tortworth Court and is currently on display at De Vere Beaumont Estate.
The gala marks a significant milestone in De Vere’s charitable efforts and reflects the organisation’s continued commitment to giving back to the communities it serves.
Laurie Nicol and Alan Corlett, Co-CEOs at De Vere, commented: “We are incredibly proud of the success of our inaugural Charity Gala Dinner. Raising over £100,000 for these outstanding charities is a remarkable achievement, and we are so thankful to our guests, team and partners who made the night possible. The evening was more than just a gala, it was a celebration of purpose, generosity, and community, reflecting our shared belief that business should be a force for good for our guests, our people, and our planet.”
