Global real estate advisor, CBRE, has extended its charity partnership with Alzheimer’s Society for a further year, marking a total three-year commitment to supporting people affected by dementia across the UK.
Since the partnership began in January 2024, CBRE employees have raised £1 million through a range of fundraising activities, including personal challenges, team events and community initiatives. In addition to this, their efforts have helped unlock more than £1 million in financial benefits for families in need, offering support to those facing the realities of dementia. As a direct result of these contributions, 477 people have now started receiving much-needed financial assistance.
The funds raised have enabled Alzheimer’s Society to deliver thousands of vital services. These include nearly 5,000 Companion Calls to reduce isolation among vulnerable individuals, over 3,000 Dementia Support Line calls offering expert advice, and hundreds of translation service calls to ensure accessible support for people from diverse backgrounds. The partnership has also helped create more than 117,000 Dementia Friends through thousands of awareness sessions, enabling communities with the knowledge needed to better support those affected.
With September marking World Alzheimer’s Month, this renewed commitment comes at a particularly significant time. With around 1 million people in the UK currently living with dementia, CBRE’s continued support reinforces a shared belief that it will take a society to beat dementia - a message now central to Alzheimer’s Society’s evolving approach.
Lizzie Pearl, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Alzheimer's Society, said: "We are incredibly proud of our partnership with CBRE. Raising £1 million is a phenomenal achievement and a true testament to the dedication and passion across the entire business to support people affected by dementia. Thanks to CBRE’s commitment, more families and communities have access to vital support when they need it most, so they don't have to face dementia alone."
James Brandon Head of UK DEI and Responsible Business, said: "We’re pleased to be continuing our partnership with Alzheimer’s Society for a third year. This ongoing collaboration reflects the incredible dedication of our colleagues and the strength of our shared commitment to supporting those affected by dementia. Chosen by our employees, this partnership is a meaningful example of our values in action, and we’re looking forward to building on the momentum we’ve created through a wide range of fundraising initiatives."
