Wembley to Host Special International Fixture in October 2025
The FA has today announced a 1 year extension to its charity partnership with Alzheimer’s Society, marking the continuation of a highly successful collaboration into a fifth year.
As part of the renewed partnership, England’s senior men’s team will dedicate their fixture against Wales on Thursday 9 October 2025 as the Alzheimer’s Society International. The match, set to take place at Wembley Stadium connected by EE, will be the fourth England international fixture—across both men's and women's teams—held in support of the charity since the partnership began.
Originally launched in August 2021, the charity partnership has already raised over £1 million for Alzheimer’s Society. These funds have helped fuel vital research into dementia and bolstered the charity’s efforts to raise awareness and improve access to life-changing support services across the UK.
Alzheimer’s Society continues to shine a light on the urgent need for better understanding and earlier diagnosis of dementia. Currently, one in three people born in the UK today is expected to develop dementia during their lifetime. While it remains the nation’s biggest killer, many still mistakenly view the condition as a natural part of ageing—often delaying diagnosis and support.
Mark Bullingham, FA Chief Executive, said:
"We are delighted to extend our successful charity partnership with Alzheimer’s Society for a fifth consecutive year. We have achieved so much together over the last four years by using the power of football to raise an incredible £1 million during that time – which has directly helped to fund vital research and support.
“As part of our renewed commitment for the 2025-26 season, we are proud to announce that our senior men’s match between England and Wales at Wembley Stadium on Thursday 9 October will be our dedicated Alzheimer’s Society International."
Kate Lee, CEO of Alzheimer’s Society, added:
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be extending our vital partnership with the FA. Football has an incredible ability to bring people together, and over the past four years, this partnership has helped shine a light on the realities of dementia while raising over £1 million for life-changing support and research.
“The Alzheimer’s Society International at Wembley in October will be another powerful opportunity for us to raise awareness and encourage people to seek a diagnosis and support if they’re worried about dementia. We’re so grateful to the FA and to football fans across the country for standing with us and helping to make a real difference to people affected by dementia.”
Fans purchasing tickets for the Three Lions’ 105th meeting with Wales on Thursday 9 October [7.45pm BST kick-off] will also have the option of making a donation to Alzhemier’s Society.
The renewed charity partnership will run until July 2026, with further initiatives and campaigns expected to be announced in the coming months.
