RSA is deepening its commitment to youth development and community resilience with the expansion of its flagship initiative, the ‘Building Aspirations’ programme, in partnership with UK Youth. The move underscores the insurer’s ongoing mission to empower young people and foster stronger, more resilient communities across the country.

Supporting local communities has long been embedded in RSA’s culture, with employees nationwide contributing their time, energy, and resources to causes ranging from mental health support to youth employability. In 2024 alone, RSA colleagues logged more than 10,600 volunteer hours, supported 720 charitable initiatives, and submitted 237 matched funding applications—clear evidence of a deeply ingrained culture of giving.

The first year of RSA’s partnership with UK Youth has already delivered tangible results in Liverpool and Manchester. Through the dedicated work of four local leads and a network of volunteers, 135 young people completed the ‘Building Aspirations’ programme, gaining valuable skills and renewed confidence. Four participants secured paid work placements with RSA—three of whom have since transitioned into permanent roles within the company. Additionally, over £22,000 in scholarships were awarded to help young people take their next steps toward meaningful careers.

Buoyed by this success, RSA will extend the programme in 2025 to reach young people in Leeds and Halifax. Six RSA colleagues have committed to volunteering directly with UK Youth to support programme delivery in these new locations, expanding access to life-changing opportunities.

Beyond the classroom, RSA employees are also championing the cause in other ways. A team of 10 colleagues took on the challenge of the London Marathon, raising over £20,000 to help fund the ongoing delivery of the ‘Building Aspirations’ initiative.

“Our people are passionate about making a real difference,” said a spokesperson for RSA. “Through volunteering, fundraising, and building strong partnerships, we’re helping to shape a more hopeful future for young people across the UK.”

With a proven impact and a growing footprint, RSA’s work with UK Youth continues to be a beacon of corporate social responsibility—one young person at a time.
