Platform Housing Group has announced that it has raised an impressive £46,005.67 for Dementia UK, its chosen corporate charity for 2024.

This remarkable total was made possible through the collective efforts and enthusiasm of colleagues across the organisation, bolstered by generous match funding from the Board.

Over the past year, staff demonstrated extraordinary creativity and commitment in support of the specialist dementia nursing charity. Fundraising activities spanned a wide range - from a gruelling 200-mile cycling challenge and daring skydives, to coffee mornings, bake sales, craft fairs, and sponsored runs. The initiatives reflected a strong sense of community and a shared desire to make a meaningful difference.

Clare Durnin, Chief People and Excellence Officer at Platform Housing Group, praised the team’s commitment:

"We are so proud of what our colleagues have achieved this year. Dementia UK is a cause that resonates with so many of us. The effort people have put in—whether through physical challenges or organising local events—has been truly inspiring."

Daisy Wilson, Corporate Partnership Lead at Dementia UK, echoed the sentiment:

"We’re incredibly grateful to everyone at Platform Housing Group for their dedication and creativity over the past year. Each activity, big or small, brings us closer to reaching more families affected by dementia. Our Admiral Nurses provide life-changing practical and emotional support, and efforts like these ensure we can continue to grow that vital network."

The funds raised will go directly towards helping Dementia UK deliver on its mission: that no family should face dementia alone. Currently, one in two people in the UK will be affected by dementia in their lifetime - either as a carer, a person living with the condition, or both.

Every three minutes, someone in the UK develops dementia. Today, nearly 944,000 people live with the condition, including more than 70,000 with young onset dementia, diagnosed before the age of 65.

Dementia UK supports these individuals and their families through a nationwide network of approximately 400 specialist Admiral Nurses. Their expert care and advice - offered free of charge - provide a vital lifeline to those navigating the challenges of dementia.

Looking ahead, Platform Housing Group has named the NSPCC as its Charity of the Year for 2025–26, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to causes that deliver meaningful, long-lasting impact across the UK.
