Air Ambulances UK, the national charity supporting the lifesaving work of air ambulance services across the country, has announced Citi Medical as its new Charity of the Year partner for 2025/26.

The charity partnership marks a significant commitment from Citi Medical, a leading provider of occupational health and wellbeing services, to help raise vital funds and awareness for air ambulance charities that respond to some of the most serious incidents across the UK.

Each year, air ambulance crews across the UK carry out over 100 lifesaving missions a day. These services rely entirely on charitable donations to operate, with the cost of a single mission averaging £3,500. The partnership with Citi Medical is expected to make a meaningful contribution towards sustaining these critical operations.

“We are proud to welcome Citi Medical as our Charity of the Year partner,” said Simmy Akhtar, CEO of Air Ambulances UK. “Their support will play a vital role in helping us raise awareness of the lifesaving work being carried out by air ambulance crews every day. With no government funding, our national network of air ambulance charities depends on generous partnerships like this to keep flying and saving lives.”

Citi Medical has pledged to support the charity through a series of fundraising activities, employee engagement initiatives, and awareness campaigns throughout the year. The company’s leadership has expressed strong commitment to giving back to communities and supporting emergency services that make a difference.

“We are honoured to partner with Air Ambulances UK,” said Dr. Shazad Amin, CEO of Citi Medical. “As a healthcare provider, we recognise the extraordinary value air ambulance charities bring to urgent and emergency care. Through our collaboration, we aim to support their mission and highlight the importance of their work nationwide.”

Air Ambulances UK collaborates with 21 individual air ambulance charities across the country, ensuring that rapid response medical teams can reach patients wherever and whenever they are needed. The Charity of the Year partnership with Citi Medical is expected to provide a boost, not only to fundraising but also to public understanding of the crucial role these services play in saving lives.
