David Wilson Homes Southern raises over £30,000

David Wilson Homes Southern raises over £30,000 to-date for its chosen charity of the year, Prospect Hospice. Home builders David Wilson Homes have given a £30,000 boost to Prospect Hospice, and suggested that there’s more still to come as part of a valuable charity of the year partnership. Prospect Hospice were chosen back in January 2018 and, since then, DWHS staff have been working throughout the year to raise funds, with a dress down day, in-house raffles and a sports charity dinner. So far, David Wilson Homes Southern have raised over £30,000, and have said that the final total will also include a £15,000 donation from their parent company Barratt Developments. Paul Crispin, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes Southern, said: “We are delighted to announce that we have managed to raise over £30,000 so far for our charity of the year, Prospect Hospice. “As a leading house builder we understand the importance of supporting charities and communities and strive to give back wherever we can. “It is a pleasure to be able to support the vital work being carried out by the team and the work they do for people with life-limiting illnesses is very admirable. “Prospect Hospice was chosen as our charity of the year in January and since then our staff have been working to raise funds for the cause, with the main event being a sports charity dinner.” Amy Francombe, Major Gifts and Corporate Fundraiser at Prospect Hospice, said: “We are extremely grateful to everyone at David Wilson Homes for choosing to support the work of Prospect Hospice as their charity of the year. “Last year, it cost £8.4 million to provide our specialist care and support to 7,300 patients and families in Swindon, Marlborough and north-east Wiltshire. With just 28 per cent of our funding from the NHS, we rely on the generosity of people in the community to be able to continue to deliver our services.”
