British Garden Centres raises £25,000 for Greenfingers

The British Garden Centres Group, became a Platinum Partner of Greenfingers Charity in January 2022, pledging to raise £25,000 before the charity's 25th anniversary in 2024. The group has already achieved this fundraising milestone and will presented the charity with a cheque on Monday 23rd May 2022 at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

The garden centre group have raised this money through a series of events this year, including company-wide participation in Garden Re-Leaf Day on March 18th. Centres hosted activities and raffles to raise money. Teams 'went green for Greenfingers' and dressed as everything from jolly green giants to crocodiles. Restaurants held cake sales and held special coffee mornings.

In April, two members of the BGC Team, Amy Stubbs and David Lazenby, ran the London Landmarks Half Marathon and raised a staggering £5060 for the charity.

Greenfingers is a national charity dedicated to supporting life-limited children and their families who spend time in hospices around the UK. The charity is committed to creating, beautiful, well-designed outdoor spaces for children to enjoy with family, friends, and siblings, whether through play and fun, or therapeutic rest and relaxation. To date, Greenfingers Charity has created over 60 inspiring gardens in children’s hospices around the country and has a further waiting list of hospices that need help.

British Garden Centres surpassing their fundraising goal this early on is amazing and will make a huge impact not only on the charity but also the hospices we are working with.”

British Garden Centres is dedicated to supporting Greenfingers as their work positively impacts so many lives. The group have been long-term supporters of the charity and will continue to raise money for them and support all their efforts. The group have even sponsored the charity's stand at the 2022 RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

The British Garden Centres Group now has 61 centres in the UK with their latest opening in April at Hatton, Warwick. The group is continuing to grow and are planning a number of other fundraising initiatives in aid of Greenfingers.
