British Heart Foundation to be RUNFEST's Charity of the Year 2019
British Heart Foundation to be RUNFEST's Charity of the Year 2019 The Richmond RUNFEST is proud to announce British Heart Foundation (BHF) is the new Charity of the year for 2019. The partnership will raise vital funds for the BHF’s life saving research to help beat heartbreak forever. Heart and circulatory diseases, including coronary heart disease, stroke, vascular dementia and their risk factors such as diabetes, devastate millions of families across the UK. Money raised from Richmond RUNFEST events in 2019 will go towards helping us better understand how to prevent, diagnose and treat heart and circulatory diseases, which are responsible for 1 in 4 deaths in the UK. Liam O’Reilly, Third Party Events Lead at the BHF said, “We’re honoured to have been chosen as Richmond RUNFEST’s Charity of the Year 2019. It’s a truly fantastic way to generate awareness for our cause and to help raise money to fund lifesaving research for the seven million people in the UK living with heart and circulatory diseases which include heart disease, vascular dementia and stroke.” Jade Bedford, Assistant Race Director at RUNFEST, says: “We are delighted to welcome the British Heart Foundation as our Charity of the Year 2019. As our first headline charity focused on beating heartbreak forever, we are excited to be a part of this challenge to encourage our runners to 'run with heart’!” Richmond RUNFEST’s Kew Gardens 10k is taking place on Saturday 14th September 2019 followed by the Half and Full Marathon on Sunday 15th September 2019.
