Sheffield Chamber of Commerce raises £21,000 in 2 year charity partnership with Bluebell Wood Childr

Sheffield Chamber of Commerce has raised an incredible £21,000 in a two-year charity partnership with South Yorkshire’s only children’s hospice. The Chamber, which helps to support, connect and grow businesses across the region, has raised money for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice through the Master Cutler’s Challenge and other events. The first year was supported by then-Chamber President, Darren Pearce, Centre Director of Meadowhall, and then over a second year by current Chamber President, John Hayward, Chief Executive of Pressure Technologies. A cheque for the final total was presented to Bluebell Wood’s Chief Executive Claire Rintoul and Corporate Fundraiser Matt Sheridan at the President’s Dinner at the Cutler’s Hall in Sheffield. Rachael Dawes, Corporate Fundraising Manager, Bluebell Wood, said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Sheffield Chamber, both presidents and all the members for their impressive support. “These funds really will help families facing unimaginably tough times, and help them to make special memories together. “Bluebell Wood relies on fundraising to generate 90% of the income needed to keep our doors open each year, so every pound raised does matter, and means we can continue to be there for families when they need us most.” Sam Christmas, Commercial Partnerships Manager, added: “Sheffield Chamber of Commerce has always been committed to supporting local charities and we have been lucky enough to support Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice over the last two years. “It has been extremely eye opening to witness the incredible work that is undertaken by the whole team at Bluebell Wood and to see what a difference they make to people’s lives. “As many charities do, Bluebell Wood face constant challenges to raise the necessary funds required to continue delivering their exceptional service to local people and the Chamber are delighted to have raised such a significant amount to help towards their work. “I encourage anyone to pledge their support and engage with their fantastic fundraising team.”
